Sorry in advance for this video being a little all over the place -- but we got a lot done! We did some grading outside to make room for new garden beds and get the house to code, and installed our light fixtures, then the drywall guys came and did their magic. We learned the importance of backrolling primer, then installed our hardwood floors. We also go over our solar setup and show you how we're running the house off of battery power (even though we're still waiting on solar panels) Can we move in yet??

Today we'll be covering the thermal and moisture protection for our offgrid home - including our roof, insulation, and finishing up our siding. Also paint, gutters and finishing the deck!

In this video you'll see us frame everything from the subfloor up to the roof joists and sheathing of our off grid home!

It's starting to look like a house! In this video we'll be installing our water and sewer lines, floor joists, subfloor and pier connections. We have a LOT of framing footage, so look out for part two where we get to the walls!

Our foundation is finally complete! We've finished all the block work for the garage, patio, flower bed and piers, erected our steel deck columns, and got our concrete poured. We also take a trip up to the (almost) top of our mountain -- it's all vertical from here!

We're building our own entry door and garage doors for our new home and sharing the process so you can do it yourself!

Sorry this video took us so long! Building permits and the damage from Fred held us up a bit -- but we finally got our rebar installed, concrete poured, and well dug!

Time to stake out the house and excavate for our footings and garage slab -- and we finally got some gravel on our road!

Our view has really opened up now, and we've made some good progress on the road! Our neighbors have said this property is infested with rattlesnakes, and we don't think they were joking. Also, we we got some gravel... kind of.

We're finally starting on a home for ourselves! We'll be vlogging the entire build of our modern, off-grid house... but first we have (a lot!) of land to clear and almost a mile of road to fix up.
